January to March, Redesign and start of Buddy
Early 2025: new pictalk.org website and graphic charter. Participation in Handilab and collaboration with CAApt. Presentations at IME le Bouquet (special education center) and speech therapists at Adapei69.

April to June, Milestone of 5,000 users reached
Pictalk AAC surpasses 5,000 monthly active users. Addition of guided sequences on Buddy. Invitation to the digital forum of the Anne de Gaulle foundation and training for the IME Les Tournesols team (special education center).

July to September, Institutional recognition
Pictalk AAC is recognized as a non-profit association of public interest. Migration to HDS servers to enhance data security and confidentiality. Participation in the "Lend me your wings" forum.

October to December, Official launch of Buddy
Pictalk AAC reaches 7,500 then 10,000 active users in just two months. Launch of Buddy Watch and Pro features. Communication notebooks available on Buddy. Presence on Radio Isère and at the Unapei 92 congress.
With you in 2026
The adventure continues! The year 2026 will be full of projects, the main focus this year will be the redesign of Pictalk AAC and the unification of the tools into a single application. Here is an overview of the roadmap

By March
At the beginning of this year, we are launching a fundraising campaign to continue offering the applications as pay-what-you-want. We are deploying the geolocation feature for Buddy Watch to provide more peace of mind during outings. We are starting the redesign of Pictalk AAC with a new interface and improved features.

By June
By summer, we will launch the new unified version of Pictalk AAC with Pictalk Buddy. We are introducing group features for professionals on the communication part.

By September
Before September, we will strengthen the tool’s robustness by adding an automatic error correction module: verb conjugations, agreements, etc. We will also integrate a predictive keyboard to facilitate fast input.

By the end of the year
We will expand communication catalogs by adding compatibility with OpenBoard. We will automatically offer intelligent vocabulary based on the context of use, calendar events, etc.
What is the purpose of your contributions?
For greater transparency, we have organized our funding in tiers based on the number of monthly supporters, rather than target amounts. This approach reflects our belief: every contribution matters equally, regardless of its amount. You are a full-fledged supporter. Here is how these supports translate concretely:

Level 1 - 150 monthly supporters
With 150 supporters, Pictalk stays online 24/7. The supporters cover the cost of secure servers and the most essential subscriptions. Partial technical maintenance, but no regular development of new features.

Level 2 - 450 monthly supporters
With 450 supporters, we can ensure full technical maintenance. Pictalk continues to be maintained for every version of Android and iOS. Regular bug fixes, but development still limited.

Level 3 - 625 monthly supporters
With 625 supporters, one workday per week dedicated to Pictalk. Full maintenance and addition of small features requested by the community.

Level 4 - 1000 monthly supporters
With 1000 supporters, we can work two days per week on Pictalk. Active development, adding some impactful features from the roadmap: interface redesign, unification of tools.

Level 5 - 1500 monthly supporters
With 1500 supporters, we can work full-time at minimum wage. The 2026 roadmap becomes reality: redesign of Pictalk AAC, professional groups, robust tool, predictive keyboard, OpenBoard compatibility.

Level 6 - 2000 monthly supporters
With 2000 supporters, we can work full-time and set aside a budget for real associative actions: awareness raising, field presence, support for the most isolated families.

With 2500 supporters, we can work full-time with fair and sustainable remuneration. This is the guarantee that Pictalk will continue to exist and evolve for those who need it most.
Where does the money go?
Transparency and exemplary conduct are key to a sustainable world, so you will find these values at Pictalk AAC.
Donations from users go directly towards operating and developing Pictalk AAC.
Our main expenses are the salaries of two permanent employees, the computer servers which can cost up to €300 per month, and software and programs that allow Pictalk AAC to function properly.

Who is behind Pictalk?
Pictalk is two full-time people who handle development, maintenance, updates, as well as support, communication, and other tasks essential to the proper functioning of the Pictalk AAC applications.
Why does Pictalk need support?
We operate on a 100% non-profit model.
We do not accept any advertising, do not sell your data, and distribute our applications free of charge.
How does the tax deduction work?
If you are taxable in France, 66% of your donation to Pictalk AAC is deductible from your income tax, within legal limits. A donation of 10 € therefore costs 3.40 € after deduction.
When will I receive my tax receipt?
You will receive tax receipts by email, at the beginning of the following year, for all donations made during the past year.
Can I modify or cancel my donation?
You cannot cancel a donation that has already been made. However, you can cancel your monthly support at any time with 2 clicks from the confirmation email.
Can I make a donation on behalf of an organization?
Yes. You can do so directly through the standard donation module.

Who owns Pictalk?
Pictalk AAC is recognized as a non-profit association of general interest in France.
Alexandros and Adrianos SIDIRAS are the two founding members and main contributors to the project.
What happens to donations on HelloAsso?
Our HelloAsso account remains active and recurring donations there also continue. You can choose to stay there. If you wish to switch your subscription, just cancel the one on HelloAsso and resubscribe here.
