Pictalk Buddy Watch Guide
Congratulations! You are about to discover Pictalk Buddy Watch, our application designed to support autonomy directly on your wrist. This guide will walk you through the setup for simple and effective handling.
Prerequisite: Prepare Your Watch
Before starting the Pictalk Buddy Watch adventure, your connected watch must be paired with your phone. Since each manufacturer has its specifics, we recommend following the official procedure for your watch. Once this step is completed, let the magic begin!
Installation: As Easy as Pie
On your phone, go to the Pictalk Buddy page: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pictime.application.twa&hl=en
First Connection: Everything Syncs
The first time you open Pictalk Buddy Watch, a connection is necessary. Simply enter the code displayed on the watch into the 'Connected Watch' menu in the Pictalk Buddy app on your phone. After adding your watch, it will perform an initial synchronization, which may take from a few seconds up to several minutes depending on the amount of content to download from your Pictalk Buddy app.
Note: the code is valid only for one hour and updates automatically.
Step 1: The code consists of four alphanumeric characters.
Step 2: Open the Pictalk Buddy app and go to the connected watch menu. Tap on Pair and enter the code shown on the watch.
Step 3: Done! The watch will automatically perform an initial synchronization that may last a few minutes. It will download all your content for offline access.

Pictalk Buddy Watch offers quick access to three complementary applications:

The current event: Always visible
When opening the app, the ongoing event is clearly displayed in the center of the screen. A blue circle surrounds the watch to visualize the remaining time – no surprises! The title, start and end times are also shown for complete information.
Agenda: Anticipate to live better
Because we strongly believe that seeing the future reduces anxiety, the events of the next seven days can be checked with a simple gesture. Clicking on any event reveals its details: GPS navigation via Google Maps, triggering personalized sequences, or the ability to validate or refuse the activity.
Event validation: Your choice matters
Self-determination is fundamental at Pictalk. Every user can validate a completed task or refuse it independently. This validation appears instantly on the watch AND on the caregiver's phone (if the watch is connected to the Internet) – real-time communication!
Notifications and alarms
Easily create personalized notifications and alarms on your phone that appear directly on the watch: medication reminders, bathroom breaks, activity changes... The person supported receives their reminders autonomously, at the right moment, without external intervention!
Sequences: Your routines on the wrist
All your Pictalk Buddy sequences are directly accessible from the watch. The app perfectly plays videos, audios, speech synthesis messages, and images. Your routines go with you everywhere!
Pictalk Buddy Timers: Visualize Time
This app works in perfect harmony with the Cards. Launched from the Cards, it allows you to choose a desired duration (5, 20, 60, or 120 minutes). When accessed from the main menu, it shows the current timer.
When time runs out, no stress: the watch vibrates and rings for 10 seconds as a gentle reminder.
Pictalk AAC: The essence of communication
On a connected watch, Pictalk AAC focuses on essentials: 25 carefully selected pictograms. Politeness, emergency situations, simple requests – everything to communicate quickly and effectively without navigating through menus.
We intentionally limited the number of pictograms to keep it smooth and intuitive. Essentials at your fingertips!
The Cards: Geste-Accessible Efficiency
Cards (or Tiles in English) are the little extras that make all the difference! Accessible with a simple swipe right or left from your watch's main screen, they provide ultra-fast access to the most-used functions.
Pictalk Buddy Watch offers two essential Cards:
