Prerequisites: Purchase and prepare your watch

Warning: These Android watches are not compatible with Apple devices. An Android smartphone or tablet is essential for the initial setup. Once pairing is successful, the watch becomes autonomous thanks to Wi-Fi, and the Android device is no longer required for use.

Pairing your Wear OS watch

Installation: Easy as pie

Using your phone, go to the Pictalk Buddy page: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pictime.application.twa&hl=en

First connection: Everything syncs

The first time you open Pictalk Buddy Watch, a connection is required. It’s very simple: enter the code from the Pictalk Buddy app on your phone in the "Connected Watch" menu. Once the watch is added, it will perform an initial synchronization, which can take a few seconds to several minutes depending on the amount of content to download from your Pictalk Buddy app.

Note: the code is only valid for one hour. It changes automatically.

Step 1: The code consists of four alphanumeric characters.

Step 2: Open the Pictalk Buddy app and go to the connected watch menu. Click Pair and enter the code displayed on the watch.

Step 3: Done! The watch automatically performs an initial synchronization which may last up to a few minutes. The watch downloads all your content so it is accessible offline.

Pictalk Buddy Watch offers you quick access to three complementary applications:

Pictalk Buddy Watch: Your organized daily life

Current event: Always visible

When opening the app, the current event is clearly displayed in the center of the screen. A blue circle surrounds the watch to visualize the remaining time - no more surprises! The title, start and end times are also shown for complete information.

Schedule: Anticipate for a better life

Because we firmly believe that seeing the future reduces anxiety, events for the next seven days are accessible with a simple gesture. Clicking on any event reveals its details: GPS navigation via Google Maps, triggering personalized sequences, or the possibility to validate or decline the activity.

Event validation: Your choice matters

Self-determination is fundamental at Pictalk. Each user can validate a completed task or refuse it independently. This validation appears instantly on the watch AND on the companion’s phone (if the watch is connected to the Internet) – real-time communication!

Notifications and alarms

From your Pictalk Buddy phone app, easily create personalized notifications and alarms that arrive directly on the watch: medication times, toilet breaks, activity changes... The accompanied person receives reminders autonomously, at the right time, without external intervention!

 

Sequences: Your routines on your wrist

All your Pictalk Buddy sequences are accessible directly from the watch. The app perfectly plays videos, audios, synthesized voice messages and images. Your routines follow you everywhere!

Pictalk Buddy Timers: Visualized time

This app works in perfect harmony with the Tiles. Launched from the Tiles, it allows choosing the desired duration (5, 20, 60 or 120 minutes). Opened from the main menu, it displays the timer currently running.

When time runs out, no stress: the watch vibrates and rings for 10 seconds to gently warn.

Pictalk AAC: The communication essentials

On connected watch, Pictalk AAC focuses on essentials: 25 carefully selected pictograms. Politeness, emergency situations, simple requests – everything you need to communicate quickly and efficiently, without getting lost in menus.

We have intentionally limited the number of pictograms to keep usage smooth and intuitive. The essentials at your fingertips!

The Tiles: Efficiency at a swipe

The Tiles are the small extra that changes everything! Accessible by a simple swipe right or left from your watch’s main screen, they offer ultra-fast access to the most used functions.
